A Little About Me.........
DATE: Jun 12 2008, 1:19 pm / MOOD: Thoughtful

Ok, going to try blogging, seen it done, have a few for my business, but other then that, have never really tried............

I guess since I really don't know anyone here, and no-one really knows me, I'll tell a little about myself.......

I'm a 35 yr old Mother of 2 gorgeous children with Aspergers whom I homeschool, and I'm in a long term relationship with a great guy. We have 3 dogs, 6 cats, 7 kittens (for now), 2 chinchillas and a gecko. Great start to a petting zoo, you think? LOL We also have a teen Survivor living with us until she gets on her feet, and she has a puppy as well. A Full House, but we always seem to have more room whenever needed! lol And planning on adopting some children as well when we get more settled where we are. Yeah, I know, gluttons for punishment! lol

My days are filled with my children and keeping busy with working on items for UAADV. I Founded United Angels Against Domestic Violence 3 yrs ago now, and it's really doing great! If you'd want too, our website is at http://www.uaadv.org/ . We've come much further in the 3 years then I ever thought we would, and we are reaching for the stars...........

So, between taking care of the website, the groups, helping with the blogs, and talking to Sister Survivors, I don't do too much else on the computer, and sometimes it's really nice to have a stress releaser! lol

My kids are great. I wouldn't change the fact that I homeschool them. With all that is going on in todays society and schools, I truly feel it's better this way. When my son went to school at the beginning of last year, he was bullied unmercifully, and came home with bruises. This on top of being choked, kicked in the privates, called names, and knocked down off his seat in the bus while moving multiple times. No-one called me, my son didn't tell me. I didn't know it was as bad as it was until he came home with a bruise on his arm as large as a baseball. I pulled him out that day. I had a friend over, she works in the child abuse field, and she told me later that she never saw bullying at school as child abuse, but she finally got it. You see, I feel that the bullies of today will most likely be the abusers of tomorrow, and unfortunately, the victims of the bullying today the victims. Sigh.........Since then, I've been told that my son is an Indigo child, and after looking that up, I have to agree.

So, other then that, spending time with my family, crocheting for Victims & Survivors, some other crafts thrown in, I'm pretty boring LOL

I'm looking forward to getting to know Sisters on this site, having a place to just let go and vent once in a while, and somewhere I can come to just let my hair down LOL (k, wont mention that I'm still in my pj's right now and well, you wouldn't want to see my hair! lol).
